Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Gu Bok-gyu) announced on the 3rd that it conducted training for over 250 public officials, including the county governor, on the 2nd to prevent the occurrence of gapjil and euljil.
They invited Moon Yang-geun, a professional instructor in integrity education from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, who lectured on ▲the requirements for establishing gapjil ▲the provisions related to gapjil in the Public Officials' Code of Conduct (such as demands for private labor, unfair acts exercising official authority, and unfair demands from supervisory agencies) ▲and the reporting and handling procedures in case of gapjil damage, combining theory and case studies. After the lecture, all participants engaged in a quiz session to encourage employee participation and interest.
Instructor Moon Yang-geun emphasized mutual understanding among organizational members, stating, “To prevent the occurrence of gapjil and euljil, it is necessary not only to know the related regulations intellectually but also to recognize generational differences and make efforts to respect and consider each other.”
Gu Bok-gyu, Governor of Hwasun County, said, “Since Hwasun County has achieved excellent results in various institutional evaluations such as the government joint evaluation and local government innovation evaluation, I hope for good results in the integrity evaluation as well. The evaluation of integrity is conducted by the residents, and its starting point is to enhance internal integrity within the county office, so I ask the staff to actively make efforts.”
