YouTuber Reveals Detailed Personal Information Including Workplace and Residence
Company Announces "Resignation Processed"
A YouTuber has sparked controversy by identifying and exposing the personal information of an individual as one of the perpetrators in the 2004 Miryang group sexual assault case. The man reportedly quit his job, and the apartment community where he is known to reside has been flooded with critical comments.
On the 2nd, the YouTube channel 'Jeontu Tokki' named a man, Mr. A, as a perpetrator in the Miryang case and disclosed his personal information. They revealed detailed information including the building and unit number of the apartment where Mr. A lives, as well as the company where he was employed.
Shortly after the video was posted, it was reported that Mr. A had been processed as having resigned. A company in Busan, identified as Mr. A’s workplace, issued a statement on its official website saying, "We take the recent controversy very seriously, and the employee in question has been processed as having left the company." The statement added, "We will continue to be a trusted company through thorough ethical management." From the announcement alone, it is unclear whether Mr. A was still employed at the company, whether he was the actual perpetrator, or whether his departure was voluntary or a dismissal.
The real estate platform for the apartment where Mr. A is known to live also saw a surge in visitors, and subsequently, the community was reportedly flooded with critical comments from netizens.
Recently, as the personal information of suspected perpetrators has been exposed online, the Miryang case has resurfaced once again. However, during the process of YouTubers revealing the identities of the perpetrators, there have been controversies due to mistakenly identifying innocent people, creating false victims.
