Gwangju Global Motors has established a complete production system ahead of the mass production of the Casper EV. Starting with electric vehicle mass production, it is expected to produce at least 53,000 units, far exceeding this year's production target of 48,500 units, raising expectations for achieving record-breaking performance.
In particular, the electric vehicle production is planned to increase by 25% from the initially planned 17,400 units to 21,400 units, and with the increased factory operation rate, significant synergy effects are expected in terms of future wages and job creation.
According to Gwangju Global Motors on the 3rd, the overall specifications and design of the Casper EV, unveiled on the 27th of last month, received praise that exceeded expectations, and combined with the highest quality technology possessed by Gwangju Global Motors, it is already forecasting a strong market impact.
The Casper EV unveiled that day features a solid SUV image, expanded interior space, and driving stability, and secures a cruising range of 315 km on a single charge, earning evaluations of being "bigger, wider, and going farther."
Gwangju Global Motors, which produces the Casper EV, began trial production on February 5th and has produced about 300 units so far. Currently, in the ongoing pre-mass production phase, it has secured perfect, flawless top quality and plans to showcase the Casper EV, which is at the highest level in its class, starting from the 15th.
What is even more encouraging is that all executives and employees of Gwangju Global Motors are united and putting forth their full efforts for successful mass production.
Moreover, through active efforts by management and consultations with Hyundai Motor Company, they have promised to increase Casper EV production by at least 4,000 units in the second half of this year and finalized the future production schedule with full cooperation from the win-win cooperation council. As a result, the initially planned 17,000 electric vehicles will now be produced at a minimum of 21,000 units.
The reasons why Gwangju Global Motors is confident in success while fully dedicating itself to electric vehicle mass production include ▲ the large deployment of professional management ▲ implementation of various morale-boosting measures ▲ commitment to and practice of the win-win development agreement ▲ securing the highest quality technology ▲ and the expectations and support of Gwangju citizens.
In fact, since the inauguration of CEO Yoon Mong-hyun, a professional manager from Hyundai Motor Company, on December 7th last year, key executives have been filled with experts who have experience in automobile production as well as success in electric vehicle production. This played a significant role in gaining full support and trust from Hyundai Motor Company, the party to the consignment contract.
Additionally, starting from April 17th, 126 employees were trained five times in advanced quality assurance techniques from a Japanese automobile company, and on the 12th, 1,000 Kia Tigers baseball game tickets were purchased to allow all employees and their families to watch the game, boosting morale and promoting coexistence and harmony.
Although a labor union was recently formed within the company, the management's firm intention to strictly adhere to the labor-management win-win development agreement has secured the expectations and trust of the majority of employees, shareholders, the local economy, and citizens, which has also been a source of strength.
Furthermore, the highest quality technology accumulated through the production of over 130,000 Casper units so far has been directly applied to Casper EV production, serving as a major advantage.
Moreover, Gwangju Global Motors, established with the purpose of creating good jobs for the sons and daughters of Gwangju, is expected to develop further and establish strong roots of coexistence through electric vehicle production, supported and cheered on by Gwangju citizens, the local economy, and local media, instilling a sense of mission and responsibility in all executives and employees.
CEO Yoon Mong-hyun said, “With the production of the Casper EV just ten days away, all executives and employees are united and fully committed to successful mass production. By deciding to increase electric vehicle production by more than 25% from the original plan, we expect to achieve the highest performance ever. Moving forward, we will not lose our initial resolve, and by protecting the value of Gwangju Global Motors born from the grand compromise among labor, management, government, and the public, we will succeed in electric vehicle mass production, allowing Gwangju Global Motors to advance to the next level and firmly establish itself as a win-win type job that meets citizens’ expectations.”
