Establishment of Marine Mobility Cluster
The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Tongmyong University (Director: Lee Kisoo) and the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Silla University (Director: Choi Insun), which are preparing for the Ministry of Education's 'Glocal University 30' project, signed a business agreement on the 26th of last month with the Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Plant Engineering Cooperative (Chairman: Lee Junghwan) to establish a marine mobility cluster.
Tongmyong University and Silla University plan to jointly operate the Future Mobility School and nurture talent for the development of the marine mobility industry in the region.
They also plan to utilize educational and research facilities within the universities to create a marine mobility cluster, collaborate with companies to provide outstanding students with job experience opportunities, and contribute to job creation.
In particular, to vitalize the cluster, they will utilize idle spaces within the universities to create complex spaces for mobility-related companies, including occupancy spaces, shared meeting rooms, and testbeds for collaborative projects.
This agreement is expected to lay a core foundation for the innovative development of the local community and industry, and to help students with career development by providing them with practical field experience.
Officials at the signing ceremony stated, "This agreement will serve as a stepping stone for advancing beyond the region to the global market," and added, "Through mutual cooperation, we will open up new possibilities in the field of marine mobility."
