Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on the 3rd that the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC, Commander Colonel Lee Seunghyun) held the "2024 Summer Training Departure Ceremony."
The departure ceremony, held on the 28th at Kyungdong Hall on Dong-A University's Seunghak Campus, was attended by President Lee Haewoo, Commander Lee Seunghyun, and ROTC cadets participating in the summer training.
Seventy-six cadets from the 63rd and 64th classes will be divided into two groups and enter the Army Cadet Military School in Goesan, Chungbuk from July 1 to August 23, where they will receive leadership and other training.
President Lee Haewoo said at the ceremony, "I am proud to see you preparing for training from early in the morning despite the hot weather," and added, "I hope you will inherit the proud tradition of Dong-A University's ROTC and grow into dignified officer candidates with strong physical and mental strength through this training."
Park Jaehong (Department of Fashion Design, Class of 2024), a 63rd class cadet, said, "I will approach the training with the determination to overcome the hot summer with even hotter passion."
Dong-A University's ROTC, established in 1961 as one of the nation's original 16 ROTC units, has been selected as the "Best ROTC Unit" by the Army Education Command a total of 10 times. It has produced over 4,500 officers, including six generals such as Nam Youngshin (retired General, Department of Education, Class of 1981, 23rd ROTC class), former Chief of Staff of the Army, and Ko Hyunseok (Lieutenant General, Department of Industrial Engineering, Class of 1987, 29th ROTC class), current Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army.
