Ulsan County Chief Lee Sungul Sends Cooperation Letter for KTX-Eum Stop at Namchang Station

Request Made to 406 Companies in Ulju-gun and Onsan Industrial Complex

Ulsan Ulju County Governor Lee Soongeol sent a letter on the 3rd to 406 companies, including small and medium-sized enterprises in Ulju County and resident companies in the Onsan Industrial Complex, requesting their cooperation for the KTX-Eum train to stop at Namchang Station.

This letter was sent to express the strong desire for the KTX-Eum to stop at Namchang Station, which is expected to serve as a catalyst for building a residential city of 100,000 people in the southern region of Ulju County.

Ulju County is home to more than 1,400 companies with over 40,000 workers. In the Onsan National Industrial Complex, one of the largest national industrial complexes in Korea, 15,000 employees are working at 461 workplaces.

Governor Lee Soongeol stated, "The southern region of Ulju, where Namchang Station is located, is undergoing projects such as the Shahin Project and the expansion of the Onsan Industrial Complex. If the KTX-Eum stops at Namchang Station and the transportation environment improves, it will greatly contribute to the national economy and interest. I sincerely ask for the active cooperation of companies so that the KTX-Eum can definitely stop at Namchang Station."

Previously, in May, Ulju County analyzed through a study on expanding and improving the public transportation network that there is sufficient justification for the KTX-Eum to stop at Namchang Station. Based on the results of this study, the public and private sectors are working together to actively attract the train stop.
