On the 3rd, opposition party lawmakers including Kim Byung-joo of the Democratic Party of Korea were waiting for Chairman Sung Il-jong and members of the People Power Party to attend at the National Assembly Defense Committee meeting room. The ruling party, led by Chairman Sung, abruptly canceled the scheduled full Defense Committee meeting, demanding an apology for Kim Byung-joo's remarks made during the government questioning session held the previous day.
