"'Expel President Yoon Who Called Someone a 'Rat Poison Eater''
Special Prosecutor Law for Sergeant Chae Expected to Be Submitted at the Plenary Session on the 3rd"
Park Chan-dae, Acting Party Leader and Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, blamed the People Power Party for the disruption of the first government questioning session of the 22nd National Assembly, defining it as an attempt to block the plenary session submission of the special investigation law on the suspected external pressure in the investigation of Corporal Chae's death (Corporal Chae Special Investigation Law). The Democratic Party plans to submit and process the Corporal Chae Special Investigation Law as soon as possible.

Through the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul on the 3rd, Acting Leader Park said, "The reason the People Power Party is disrupting by nitpicking absurd matters is their intention to block the passage of the Corporal Chae Special Investigation Law," adding, "It is the height of impudence and shamelessness for them to confront the people with the authority lent by the people to serve the country."
He also argued that the remarks made by Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Byung-joo, which caused the disruption of the government questioning session, were not problematic. Lawmaker Kim, who appeared as a questioner in the political and diplomatic field government questioning session the day before, said, "How can the People Power Party use words like 'Korea-US-Japan' and 'alliance with Japan' in their commentary?" and called them "insane People Power Party lawmakers." Acting Leader Park stated, "While the Korea-US alliance exists, there is no Korea-US-Japan alliance or Korea-Japan alliance," and questioned, "Would we form an alliance with Japan, which is constantly claiming sovereignty over Dokdo?" He continued, "The People Power Party says they will expel lawmaker Kim, but they should also expel President Yoon Seok-yeol, who called someone a 'rat poison eater,'" emphasizing, "The People Power Party, which caused the National Assembly disruption while refusing to apologize, should be the ones to apologize."
Legal action regarding the National Assembly disruption was also announced. Democratic Party lawmaker Seo Young-kyo said, "The Corporal Chae Special Investigation Law should have been submitted to the plenary session after the government questioning session the day before, but the People Power Party physically blocked it," adding, "Deputy Speaker Joo Ho-young and People Power Party Floor Leader Choo Kyung-ho exchanged words and then stopped the government questioning session." She also emphasized, "Deputy Speaker Joo Ho-young's actions were very wrong," and "We need to review legal procedures for violation of the National Assembly Advancement Act."
The Democratic Party stated its position to definitely submit the Corporal Chae Special Investigation Law at the plenary session held at 2 p.m. that day. Acting Leader Park told reporters the day before, "(The Corporal Chae Special Investigation Law) is a part we can never concede," and said, "The People Power Party will be very embarrassed by the promise to enforce the special investigation law by the 19th, the first anniversary of Corporal Chae's death, no matter what happens."
