Mid-sized construction company Hanshin Engineering & Construction announced on the 3rd that it received the highest rating in the ‘2024 Mutual Cooperation Evaluation among Construction Contractors’ conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Hanshin Engineering & Construction has earned the highest rating for three consecutive years since 2022. This time, it received high evaluations in areas such as ▲financial support for partner companies ▲educational support for partner companies ▲joint technology development and technical support ▲zero-accident credibility.
The Mutual Cooperation Evaluation among Construction Contractors is conducted by the Ministry of Land to promote balanced development of the construction industry through mutual cooperation between general and specialized construction companies, as well as between large and small-to-medium enterprises, ensuring smooth project execution and construction quality. Each construction company is evaluated based on joint contract performance with partner companies, subcontracting performance, partner company development, and credibility. A total score of 95 points or higher qualifies for the highest rating. Companies rated excellent or above receive incentives such as additional points in public construction bids by the Public Procurement Service and local governments, and penalty reductions under the Construction Industry Basic Act.
Hanshin Engineering & Construction has set five key support initiatives?▲financial support ▲technical support ▲educational support ▲expansion of exchanges ▲fair trade?as major goals for fair trade and mutual growth with subcontractors. It has established and implemented detailed action plans and is leading efforts to establish a culture that eradicates unfair subcontracting transactions.
It also received high marks in the field of safety management. Hanshin Engineering & Construction earned an excellent or higher rating for three consecutive years in the Ministry of Land’s ‘Safety Management Level Evaluation’ in 2023. This year, led by the upgraded safety and health dedicated organization ‘Safety and Health Management Office’ established at the end of last year, the company conducts monthly on-site safety inspections involving executives including the CEO and related departments. It operates a smart safety and health system capable of real-time monitoring and control. Using its self-developed safety character ‘Safety Helmet Doo,’ the company continues emotional safety activities and is committed to safety management with the goal of ‘four consecutive years of zero major accidents (ZERO).’
A representative of Hanshin Engineering & Construction stated, “We received the highest rating for three consecutive years thanks to improvements in payment processes for mutual cooperation and shared growth with partner companies, early payment of holiday funds, and the introduction of a real-time safety management system linking headquarters and sites.” He added, “Despite the downturn in the construction industry, the efforts of all employees in various areas were highly evaluated.” He further said, “We will continue to set an example in spreading a culture of fair trade and take the lead in establishing an advanced construction culture through relentless research and efforts for mutual growth with partner companies.”
