HanmiGlobal Receives Top ESG Rating for 7 Consecutive Years from SustainBest

HanmiGlobal announced on the 3rd that it ranked first in the capital goods sector in the '2024 First Half ESG Evaluation' released by Sustainvest, an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) rating agency.

Sustainvest has been conducting biannual ESG evaluations of companies since 2011. In the first half of this year, it comprehensively assessed the ESG-related management status of a total of 1,284 companies, including 1,072 listed companies and 212 unlisted companies, categorized by industry. The ratings were assigned on a 7-level scale (AA-A-BB-B-C-D-E).

HanmiGlobal scored 99.44 points in the first half ESG evaluation, achieving the highest score in the capital goods sector, which includes construction and heavy industries. Among all 1,284 surveyed companies, it ranked 4th overall. The company received an 'AA' rating, maintaining the highest grade for seven consecutive years from 2018 to this year.

HanmiGlobal has provided construction project management (PM) services for renewable energy power generation projects with a cumulative capacity of 3.7GW over the past decade in the environmental sector. It is also accelerating the development of digital PM technologies covering the entire process of construction projects, including planning, design, construction, and operation. Additionally, HanmiGlobal continues to offer consulting for zero-energy and energy-saving buildings in line with ESG management, leading the expansion of eco-friendly building technologies.

Notably, HanmiGlobal received a perfect score of 100 in social contribution and community evaluation. Since its establishment in 1996, all employees have donated 1% of their salaries, and the company has supported this with double matching grants. The company also regularly engages in social contribution activities through the social welfare foundation 'Ddaddeuthan Donghaeng.' In terms of governance, HanmiGlobal strengthened responsible management by appointing an independent director as the chairman of the board, separate from the CEO. Efforts such as establishing a committee overseeing ESG management and an internal working group contributed to achieving the highest score in ESG management infrastructure.

HanmiGlobal recently created the '2023 Sustainability Management Report' in the form of a website, detailing its ESG strategies, key activities, and achievements. The company has been publishing this report since 2021, and this year, it disclosed the website-based report to the Korea Exchange.
