Gyeonggi-do to Provide 'Professional Counseling' for 200 Isolated and Reclusive Youth... Applications Accepted from the 5th

Gyeonggi Province will provide professional counseling to isolated and reclusive youth within the province and support their participation in customized programs such as daily life recovery or self-reliance capacity building if necessary.

Isolated youth refer to young people who have no meaningful interaction with others beyond family or work contacts and lack a support system to ask for help. Reclusive youth are those who lack social relational capital and live in a limited space without going out.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that it will start the "Isolated and Reclusive Youth Counseling and Program" project, recruiting participants from the 5th. This project was proposed by Gyeonggi youth through the Gyeonggi Youth Participation Organization last year. The project targets 200 isolated and reclusive youth aged 19 to 39 residing in Gyeonggi Province.

Applicants must first conduct a self-assessment to determine which category they belong to, and if they score above a certain threshold, they can apply to participate.

After applying, they will be divided into three groups: at-risk of isolation, isolated, and reclusive, and receive initial counseling from professional counselors. Following the initial counseling, if necessary, they can participate in customized programs such as ▲professional and group counseling ▲daily life recovery programs ▲social adaptation improvement programs ▲career competency enhancement.

Earlier in March, Gyeonggi Province established the Ordinance to Support Reclusive Individuals in Gyeonggi Province, laying the institutional foundation to support isolated and reclusive youth.
