Identifying Potential Risks During Monsoon Season... Safety Measures for Workers
POSCO Pohang Steelworks conducted a special inspection of vulnerable facilities ahead of the rainy season.
A POSCO Pohang Steelworks employee is inspecting the condition of the Naengcheon embankment for flood and wind disaster preparedness on the 1st.
This special inspection was organized to minimize damage and prevent accidents caused by typhoons and localized heavy rain during the storm season.
During the rainy season, continuous rainfall can weaken the ground, increasing the risk of retaining wall collapse, and the high humidity raises electrical conductivity, which increases the risk of electric shock accidents.
In particular, strong winds can cause materials to fall or workers to slip and fall. Pohang Steelworks analyzed similar past accident cases to identify potential hazards and gathered workers' opinions to establish safety measures that reflect the voices from the field.
A Pohang Steelworks official said, "We will conduct preliminary inspections of vulnerable areas and hazardous facilities within the steelworks and thoroughly carry out disaster prevention activities to create a safe steelworks."
Based on the results of this facility inspection, Pohang Steelworks plans to provide immediate support for any deficiencies and make every effort to ensure the safety of facilities and prevent accidents.
