Operating an Online Counseling Window for Isolated and Reclusive Youth
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has taken active steps to support isolated and reclusive youth.
The district announced that it has planned a comprehensive support project for isolated and reclusive youth and has been actively implementing it since March.
This project aims to identify youth who have been living disconnected from society for a long time and provide them with various necessary supports to promote their healthy reintegration into society.
The district plans to offer a one-stop package to provide more professional and practical assistance to isolated and reclusive youth.
The one-stop package includes ▲ early identification of isolated and reclusive youth ▲ initial counseling ▲ customized support ▲ and follow-up management.
Among these, customized support consists of various programs. These range from learning support programs for youth struggling due to school dropout to experiential programs where parents and children can enjoy cultural experiences together.
A district official stated, “Dobong-gu is always open to isolated and reclusive youth. If you discover youth around you who need help or if the youth themselves want to request assistance, please feel free to contact the Dobong-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center at any time. If it is difficult to openly share your situation in person, online counseling is also available.” Online counseling can be accessed through the KakaoTalk Plus Channel Dobong-gu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “The issue of isolated and reclusive youth can spread beyond individual problems to become a societal issue. Through the comprehensive support project for isolated and reclusive youth, we will actively support youth to reconnect with society.”
