Iran has stated that if a full-scale war breaks out between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, it will mobilize the entire "Axis of Resistance," an anti-American and anti-Israel force in the Middle East, to support Hezbollah.
Kamal Haraji, an advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, said in an interview with the Financial Times (FT) on the 1st (local time) that if Israel attacks Hezbollah, it could trigger a regional war, and that in the event of a full-scale war, all means would be used to support Hezbollah.
Advisor Haraji stated, "If war breaks out, all Lebanese people, Arab countries, and the Axis of Resistance opposing the US and Israel will support Lebanon," adding, "Countries including Iran will participate in the war, which could eventually expand to the entire region."
Haraji also said, "If the situation escalates, there is no alternative but to support Hezbollah by any means necessary," urging, "Since this benefits no one, the US should pressure Israel to prevent such a situation."
Hezbollah has been engaging in clashes along the border since last October, supporting Hamas, the Palestinian armed group, after the war between Israel and Hamas began.
