“Toys, storybooks, and playtime with friends~”

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has opened the second branch of the ‘Community Childcare Sharing Center’ on the 3rd floor of the Guui 2-dong Complex Building, providing play, education, and childcare services.

The Community Childcare Sharing Center is an open community space where residents raising children share childcare information and care for their children together. It is available for use with infants and toddlers accompanied by their guardians, and all facilities and programs are provided free of charge.

The Guui 2-dong Community Childcare Sharing Center was established with an area of 112.63㎡. The indoor and outdoor play areas are equipped with 300 types of toys and books, as well as various convenience facilities such as a refrigerator, microwave, and baby bottle sterilizer.

The nursing room is furnished with a sofa, diaper changing table, and washbasin to enhance convenience.

In addition, safety accident prevention measures include installing cushioning materials to prevent finger pinching in door gaps, corner protectors, and a toy sterilizer.

Along with this, participatory programs that help children’s emotional development are operated. Guardians can receive education to improve family relationships and strengthen parenting skills. The center also supports ‘Care Sharing’ activities where neighbors experience cultural arts together and build friendships.

The Community Childcare Sharing Center operates on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in three shifts, excluding public holidays. The target users are infants and toddlers aged 3 to under 48 months and their guardians, with a maximum capacity of 12 people at the same time. Reservations can be made by signing up on the Gwangjin-gu Family Center website and then inquiring by phone.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “The Community Childcare Sharing Center is a space where parents raising children can communicate and support each other, as well as reduce childcare costs. We will continue to do our best to create a child-friendly environment that is good for having and raising children.”

Gwangjin-gu operates two Community Childcare Sharing Centers together with the entrusted organization, Gwangjin-gu Family Center. Last year, the first branch was opened on the 1st floor of the Lifelong Learning Center located in Jayang-dong.
