On the 2nd, Korea Credit Data held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders at its Yeouido headquarters and appointed Hong Du-seon, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance (pictured), as the new CEO. His term is three years, until 2027.
The new CEO Hong was born in 1970, graduated from the Department of Economics at Korea University, and entered public service after passing the 36th Administrative Examination.
He served as Chief Secretary of the Financial Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Head of Non-Bank Supervision at the Financial Supervisory Commission, Head of the New Growth Policy Division, Director of the Long-term Strategy Bureau, Director of the Public Policy Bureau, and Director of the Planning and Coordination Office at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, before serving as Vice Minister.
He was responsible for various policies encompassing the real and financial sectors, including macroeconomic policy, industrial and corporate policy, and financial policy. Recently, he led the Small and Medium Enterprise Growth Ladder initiative, which selects and fosters promising SMEs.
Korea Credit Data stated, "The new CEO Hong has a well-rounded background in policy and practice, finance and real sectors, and possesses insight into the overall economy," adding, "We expect him to play a key role in establishing sustainable growth strategies and securing momentum for Korea Credit Data in the future."
