Changwon Mayor Hong Nampyo Visits the Community, Checks on Seniors and Attends Comfort Party Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nampyo is checking on the well-being of elderly people vulnerable to the heatwave.

On this day, Mayor Hong visited a household of a solitary senior and two senior centers in Jinhae-gu, engaging in on-site administration by inquiring about the well-being of the elderly.

This field visit was conducted to listen to citizens' voices regarding the use of designated senior centers as cooling shelters, as a heatwave advisory was issued a week earlier than last year and an increase in the number of heatwave days is expected. The visit also aimed to hear how citizens are coping with summer natural disasters such as heatwaves and heavy rain.

Mayor Hong said, "I am concerned that seniors may face health problems due to heatwaves and heavy rain," and urged, "If possible, please refrain from outdoor activities during the daytime, maintain the air conditioning at an appropriate temperature in the senior centers to take care of your health, and stay in safe places during heavy rain."

Before visiting the senior centers, Mayor Hong visited the home of a senior living alone, advising them to maintain a healthy daily life through regular exercise and social interaction with neighbors to alleviate social isolation. He also emphasized the importance of seeking help immediately if they feel any discomfort due to the hot weather.
