Professor Lee Namguk (Department of Public Administration) from Pukyong National University received the Order of Service Merit at the 2024 Government Awards Ceremony for Contributions to the Development of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
On the 1st, at the Government Sejong Complex Building 5 Grand Conference Room, Professor Lee Namguk was selected as an honoree for the 29th Sea Day and received the Order of Service Merit from Minister Kang Dohyung of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries at the government awards ceremony for contributions to the development of maritime affairs and fisheries.
Professor Lee Namguk was awarded for his contributions to the establishment and stabilization of port authorities at major trade ports through research and consultation on the introduction and operation of the port authority system, as well as for his active participation in rational restructuring and efficiency improvement plans for port operation systems, the third new port function reorganization, and the establishment of basic plans. His efforts have enhanced the quality of port services, rationalized port policies, and contributed to the development of the maritime industry.
In addition, his dedication was recognized through his service as head of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' Public Institution Management Evaluation Team and as a member of various committees, where he contributed to the creation of management performance and the strengthening of innovation capabilities for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, its affiliated public enterprises, other public institutions, and related organizations.
