Anseong Mayor Kim Bora: "Industrial Structure Reorganization and Improvement of Living Conditions Are New Agendas"

'Industrial Structure Reorganization' and 'Improvement of Residential Conditions'. These are the agendas presented by Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong City, Gyeonggi Province, for the second half of the 8th term of the local government.


Mayor Kim stated this on the 2nd during a press briefing commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the launch of the 8th term, held in the large conference room on the 4th floor of the city hall.

Mayor Kim expressed, "Over the past two years, I have done my best at every moment to enable Anseong to innovate and leap forward anew through cooperation with citizens and public officials," adding, "We have spent valuable time concretizing the 8th term vision of 'citizen-centered' and 'citizen benefit' and securing the city's sustainability."


As major achievements of the 8th term in Anseong, Mayor Kim cited ▲selection as a specialized complex for semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) ▲designation as a target site for the Korea Cultural City project and selection as the 2025 East Asian Cultural City ▲free transportation support for seniors and low-income groups, expansion of metropolitan bus routes, launch of demand-responsive smart buses ▲lake tourism development projects ▲revitalization of the Baudeogi Festival.


Additionally, over the past two years, the city has implemented key policies such as ▲strengthening childbirth policies, child care, and support for single-person households ▲support for youth-exclusive spaces, culture, housing, and startups ▲expansion of senior job opportunities, integrated care, and welfare services ▲establishment of administrative welfare centers, attraction of public postpartum care centers, designation of public late-night pharmacies, and expansion of citizen convenience facilities ▲support for local food and expansion of public meals, introduction of smart odor-reducing standard models for windowless livestock barns.


At the turning point of the 8th term, Mayor Kim plans to continue innovation and change by presenting 'industrial structure reorganization' and 'improvement of residential conditions' as new agendas.


First, to reorganize the industrial structure, the plan includes ▲full-scale promotion of the Dongshin semiconductor SoBuJang specialized complex ▲promotion of the establishment of the Anseong Industrial Promotion Agency ▲strengthening local manufacturing through industrial structure analysis, core strategic industry research projects, and policy forums.


The humanities and tourism industries will also be expanded. To this end, detailed projects such as ▲promotion of the Korea Cultural City project ▲establishment of the Anseong Culture and Tourism Foundation ▲fostering lake tourism development ▲development of private cultural tourism resources were presented.


Various policies to improve 'residential conditions' will also be pursued. Plans include creating public infrastructure in various fields such as ▲administrative welfare centers ▲Daerim Dongsan welfare facilities for the disabled ▲family centers ▲lifelong learning centers ▲Gongdo Citizen Hall ▲integrated operation schools and complex facilities for Gongdo 1 elementary and middle schools.


Other key projects for the second half include ▲establishment of new metropolitan bus routes and promotion of public village buses ▲gradual expansion of free transportation for all citizens ▲expansion of demand-responsive bus operation areas ▲extensions of the Metropolitan Inland Line, Pyeongtaek Bupal Line, and Gyeonggang Line ▲urban wind path forests, Gongdo’s first waterfront park, and water-friendly spaces along Anseongcheon and Cheongmicheon streams.


Mayor Kim emphasized, "In the second half of the 8th term, I will continue to make every effort to create a city of citizen happiness by endlessly challenging toward a better tomorrow for the region."
