"We Will Focus All Efforts to Help Teachers Concentrate on Classes"

Kim Dae-jung, Superintendent of Jeonnam Education, held a press conference on the morning of the 2nd in the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the government office to announce the achievements of the 4th term of direct election by residents and the major policy promotion plans going forward.
Superintendent Kim said, "Over the past two years since taking office, we have devoted ourselves to cultivating student-tailored thinking skills and building a symbiotic educational ecosystem in cooperation with the region, strengthening glocal education," adding, "The future classroom '2030 Classroom' implemented at the Glocal Future Education Expo confirmed proactive, customized education."
Former Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Kim Dae-jung held a press conference on the second anniversary of his inauguration to announce the achievements of the 4th elected term and the major policy plans moving forward.
Superintendent Kim promised to realize a great transformation in schools by consolidating the achievements of the past two years in the second half of the 4th term of the direct election.
He emphasized, "We will expand the autonomy of financial management at individual schools, gradually increase class operation expenses for creative class management, and reduce administrative tasks to create schools dedicated to education," adding, "From 2025, we will integrate and build upon existing AI classrooms and intelligent science labs so that teachers can focus on educational activities and students can grow into talents equipped with future competencies."
He continued, "We will reduce workloads by reorganizing education office policy projects and improving the school audit system so that teachers can concentrate on teaching, and strengthen autonomy by expanding basic school operating expenses and increasing class operation expenses annually," adding, "We will significantly revise various guidelines and manuals to simplify tasks, and enhance work efficiency by introducing the JNE chatbot and upgrading the work database."
In particular, he plans to strengthen the 'symbiotic' education policy to realize Jeonnam education that is good for raising children. He will promote continuous payment of the 'Jeonnam Student Education Allowance,' which alleviates parents' economic burdens and improves students' basic learning welfare, in cooperation with local governments.
After carefully analyzing this year's payment results, starting next year, he plans to negotiate with the government to provide the same amount of 100,000 won monthly to all 22 cities and counties in Jeonnam, up to middle school students.
Additionally, he plans to expand the integrated student health promotion program and the functions of Wee Class-Wee Center-Wee School to help children grow into healthy citizens both physically and mentally, and to gradually expand the student-tailored integrated support project annually.
Superintendent Kim said, "We have also prepared educational policies to concretely realize 'glocal education,' which has established itself as the representative brand of Jeonnam education over the past two years," emphasizing, "We will actively promote education models based on Jeonnam's identity, such as student-led Jeonnam義 education and project-based ecological programs, so that Jeonnam's children can understand and love their region."
He also said, "We plan to continuously expand glocal career and academic mentoring and overseas career experiences, and to materialize the 'region-centered glocal education' model through the operation of Jeonnam-type educational development special zones linked to regional characteristics and industries."
He added, "The issues of declining school-age population, climate change crisis, and educational gaps can be solved when we recognize and practice the value of symbiosis," pledging, "We will nurture Jeonnam's children into future talents through symbiosis between humans and nature, symbiosis with AI, and local symbiosis that revitalizes the region."
