"Foreign and Institutional Investors Sell Together"... KOSDAQ Drops Over 2%

The KOSDAQ is falling more than 2% due to simultaneous net selling by foreigners and institutions. The KOSPI is also down nearly 1%.

As of 2:19 PM on the 2nd, the KOSDAQ recorded 829.59, down 17.56 points (2.07%) from the previous trading day.

By investor type, foreigners and institutions net sold 108.7 billion KRW and 158.1 billion KRW, respectively. On the other hand, individuals are net buying 293.6 billion KRW.

Most sectors are declining. Medical precision instruments, transportation equipment parts, pharmaceuticals, and publishing media reproduction are down more than 2%. Additionally, machinery equipment, general electrical and electronics, metals, chemicals, textiles and apparel, and non-metallic minerals are down more than 1%.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM traded at 186,000 KRW, down 2,500 KRW (1.33%) from the previous trading day. Alteogen is down 6.49%, and Rino Industrial is down 5.76%. Also, Hugel, Classys, EcoPro, HLB, and HPSP are down more than 1-4%. On the other hand, Enchem is up 2.69%.

At the same time, the KOSPI recorded 2,780.48, down 23.83 points (0.85%) from the previous trading day.

By investor type, foreigners and institutions net sold 40.7 billion KRW and 454.5 billion KRW, respectively. Meanwhile, individuals net bought 505.1 billion KRW.

Most sectors are declining, with electric gas, transportation equipment, and machinery down more than 3%. Medical precision, construction, and chemicals are down more than 2%. On the other hand, pharmaceuticals are up 2.18%.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics traded at 81,700 KRW, down 100 KRW (0.12%) from the previous trading day. Hyundai Motor is down 4.55%, and Kia and Samsung SDI are down more than 3%. On the other hand, Samsung Biologics is up 6.46%, and KB Financial Group and Shinhan Financial Group are up more than 3%.
