Proposing a Model to Address the Serious Outflow of Highly Skilled STEM Professionals

Dong-A University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pakistan's NUTECH (National University of Technology), NRTC (National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation), and STS Robotech (STS Precision).

The signing ceremony, held on the 28th at the main conference room of Dong-A University’s Seunghak Campus, was attended by Dong-A University President Lee Haewoo, Admissions Director Shin Sangmun, External and International Affairs Director Park Hyuntae, officials from the International Exchange Department, as well as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Korea Nabeel Munir representing NUTECH and NRTC, and STS Robotech CEO Kim Gihwan.

With the conclusion of this agreement, Dong-A University and the two institutions have decided to launch a “simultaneous employment contract department” program aimed at nurturing master’s and doctoral-level science and engineering talents linked to employment.

Accordingly, the Embassy of Pakistan in Korea will select and recommend Pakistani students to participate in the “simultaneous employment contract department” program jointly promoted by Dong-A University and STS Robotech.

President Lee stated, “Through this MOU, we will serve as a bridgehead for outstanding Pakistani students to come to the Busan area,” and added, “This will be a good model to solve the serious local issue of the outflow of highly skilled science and engineering personnel.”

Dong-A University is making every effort to play a central role in the university and regional innovation ecosystem by establishing the U.F.G (University·Field·Global) campus and proposing a profit-oriented integrated industrial complex model under an open-type consortium university system with Dongseo University.
