Making Gumi Beautiful with Love and Sharing!

Jabongi King Award Ceremony and Outstanding Volunteer Badge Presentation Held

On the 1st, the city of Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, held the "First Half Jabongi King Awards and Outstanding Volunteer Badge Presentation Ceremony" at the Saemaeul Association auditorium, organized by the Comprehensive Volunteer Center (Director Ha Junho).

Making Gumi Beautiful with Love and Sharing! Gumi City held the first half-year Volunteer King Award ceremony and presented badges to outstanding volunteers.

At this awards ceremony, three individuals were selected as Jabongi Kings and eighteen as outstanding volunteers. Jabongi King awards were presented to those with the highest volunteer activity records during the first half of the year (from December 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024). Outstanding volunteer badges were awarded by color according to accumulated volunteer hours (ranging from 300 to over 7,000 hours), along with certificates of recognition.

The awardees have consistently engaged in volunteer activities across the community, such as autonomous crime prevention patrols, crime prevention campaigns, and volunteering at senior citizen meal centers, including cooking and serving meals.

The Gumi City Comprehensive Volunteer Center holds this awards ceremony twice a year, in the first and second halves, to encourage volunteers and widely promote the value of their noble efforts.

Bang Jumun, Director of the Administration and Safety Bureau, stated, "We are grateful to the awardees who have continuously volunteered for the community. The city will also develop various incentive programs to enhance volunteers' pride and create a city where volunteering citizens shine."
