"Hoping to Gain Emotional Satisfaction through Artistic Activities"
Actor Kim Nam-gil supports young independent creators preparing for self-reliance. The cultural and arts NGO Gilstory announced on the 2nd that it is launching the 'Hamgenagil' campaign. This program discovers creators and supports their artistic activities. It provides creative opportunities and supports related activities for young people preparing for self-reliance who are unable to demonstrate their artistic talents due to social and economic issues, helping them achieve emotional independence.
Kim, the representative of Gilstory, stated, "There are many young creators preparing for self-reliance who have artistic talents but cannot even attempt to pursue them due to various difficulties," adding, "I hope they gain emotional satisfaction through artistic activities while receiving encouragement and support."
Gilstory, in collaboration with KB Kookmin Bank, is calling for creators among young people preparing for self-reliance. They will provide up to 5 million KRW in creative support funds and offer mentoring from experts in each field. Additionally, they will support the public presentation of completed exhibitions, books, and performances tailored to the characteristics of each field. A Gilstory official explained, "This is a cultural and artistic content collaboration with KB Kookmin Bank, which has consistently supported young people preparing for self-reliance," emphasizing, "It is particularly meaningful as it lays the economic foundation for the self-reliance of young creators."
The call for applications targets young people aged 25 to 34 preparing for self-reliance. Selections will be made across all cultural and artistic fields, including fine arts, music, video, literature, and theater. The application deadline is the 31st of this month.
