With the Determination of Mabu Jeongje (馬不停蹄), We Will Strive Harder
Realizing Tangible Military Administration, Communication Centered on Residents
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong County, Jeollanam-do, marked the beginning of the third year of his eighth term in office on the 1st by reaffirming his original intentions and expressing a dynamic determination to push forward with strong momentum, promoting communication at the grassroots level.
On this day, Governor Kim Cheol-woo declared his ambition to not rest on past achievements but to strive even harder in the latter half of the eighth term to build a “hopeful Boseong full of dreams and happiness,” adopting the attitude of "Mabu Jeongje" (馬不停蹄), meaning a running horse does not stop.
This grassroots communication initiative included ▲inspection of disaster sites in preparation for the rainy season, ▲visit to the Love Sharing Blanket Laundry service site, ▲one-day artist activity for the Culture 600 Life Snapshot project, and ▲attendance at the youth and adolescent festival meeting. Governor Kim Cheol-woo, visiting key project sites, was praised for firmly establishing the image of a governor who listens to and communicates with diverse residents.
Governor Kim, along with senior officials, toured the Dongyuncheon Ecological Wetland to review the status of the “Boseong Natural Disaster Risk Area Maintenance Project” and the “Urban Flood Prevention Project,” conducting briefings and on-site inspections to prepare in advance for the rainy season, continuing proactive communication and swift administration.
He then visited the site of the “Love Sharing Blanket Laundry Project,” which supports blanket washing services for households with seniors aged 65 and older, personally collecting blankets and listening to residents’ difficulties, practicing administration that finds solutions on-site.
Additionally, he visited Suchon Village in Joseong-myeon, the target site of the “Culture 600 Life Snapshot” project that records the life stories of seniors aged 75 and older through photos and writings. Acting as a one-day artist, he conducted photography and interviews, listening to the voices of the residents.
The “Our Neighborhood, We Cultivate Boseong 600 Project,” a resident-led village development initiative in Boseong County, has been underway since 2020 and is currently being implemented across all administrative sectors, including “Culture 600,” “Welfare 600,” and “Forest 600.” The project’s value and effectiveness have been recognized and benchmarked by Jeollanam-do Province and Gwangmyeong City.
Finally, he participated in the youth and adolescent festival meeting prepared for a “Fun Boseong where Youth Live and Breathe” and a “Youthful Boseong,” exploring directions and support measures for the festival and gathering various opinions that young people desire and hope for.
The eighth term of office is actively addressing population issues by preparing broad measures concerning welfare, tourism, education, jobs, and residential conditions, keeping in mind not only the resident population but also related and living populations.
Governor Kim Cheol-woo of Boseong County stated, “For project sites requiring solutions to current issues, we will hold meetings with senior officials at any time to enhance residents’ perception of county administration,” adding, “We will reflect the valuable opinions and ideas obtained through this grassroots communication in the county administration in a way that fits reality, realizing communication-centered administration with residents at the core, and incorporating the vivid voices from the field into county governance to create resident-led change and innovation.”
Meanwhile, Boseong County’s customized grassroots communication initiative, “Boseong has Tea, Boseong has It All,” is a key policy promoted since 2023 to listen attentively to the vivid voices from the field and realize county administration that residents can truly feel.
