The dialogue was the first event in the 'KEA-Pungsan Special Lecture' series. KEA planned this with Pungsan Group to gain insights from global opinion leaders.
The dialogue was attended by about 170 people, including various figures and businesspeople such as Chung Mong-joon, Honorary Chairman of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies; Yoon Young-kwan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs; Lee Jeong-han, President of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association; Sung Rae-eun, Vice Chairman of Youngone Trading; Shin Hyun-woo, President of Hanwha Strategy Division; and Park Han-sang, Vice Chairman of KBI Group, as well as university students.
In his opening remarks, Chairman Ryu said, "It is especially meaningful to have a global expert in U.S. politics and diplomacy at a time just over four months before the U.S. presidential election, to gain insights on global issues."
On that day, Secretary Rice shared her thoughts on major global issues such as the future and challenges of the Korea-U.S. alliance, prospects for the upcoming U.S. presidential election, and the direction of the Russia-Ukraine war through the dialogue with Chairman Ryu. She also offered leadership advice based on her own experiences for the university student attendees.
A KEA official said, "We will continue to create opportunities to engage with global leaders in the future."
