Four Bank Colleagues Gathered in India, Suffered Fatal Incident

All nine victims of the traffic accident that occurred at an intersection near City Hall Station in Jung-gu, Seoul, have been identified. Among the nine deceased, four were confirmed to be colleagues working at a commercial bank. According to announcements from the police and fire authorities on the 2nd, at 9:27 p.m. the previous day, a Genesis vehicle driven by Mr. A exited a hotel near City Hall Station and drove in the wrong direction on Sejong-daero 18-gil (a four-lane one-way road).

It has been determined that the accident resulted in the deaths of two City Hall employees, three hospital staff, and four bank employees. All nine victims were male, with four in their 30s, one in their 40s, and four in their 50s. Six of the nine died at the scene, while three passed away en route to the hospital. Among these, four victims who died in the accident the previous day?42-year-old Mr. Park, 54-year-old Mr. Lee, 52-year-old Mr. Lee, and another 52-year-old Mr. Lee?were colleagues working at a commercial bank headquartered near City Hall Station.

Three of them died at the scene, and one was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but was later pronounced dead. One of them had been promoted on the day of the accident, and most were known to work in the same department. It is presumed that they may have gathered on the sidewalk after work to celebrate personnel changes such as promotions and were involved in the accident while together. The fact that they were all heads of their households adds to the tragedy.

Additionally, two Seoul City Hall employees are also among the nine deceased. Immediately after the accident, the bodies were moved to Yeongdeungpo Hospital funeral hall, the National Medical Center, and Severance Hospital in Sinchon, and will be handed over to their families once identification is complete. Mr. A, who caused the accident, was investigated and found not to be under the influence of alcohol at the time. He was also transported to the hospital with fractured ribs and is currently under police investigation.
