KOSPI Falls on Institutional Net Selling... "Below 2800 Level"

The KOSPI fell below the 2800 mark as institutions engaged in net selling.

As of 9:38 AM on the 2nd, the KOSPI was trading at 2784.59, down 19.72 points (0.70%) from the previous trading day.

By investor type, individuals and foreigners were net buyers of 239.5 billion KRW and 5.7 billion KRW respectively. In contrast, institutions were net sellers of 250.9 billion KRW.

By sector, transportation equipment and precision medical sectors fell more than 2%. Additionally, electricity and gas, construction, chemicals, machinery, services, and food and beverages all declined by more than 1%. Meanwhile, insurance rose by 1.16%.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics traded at 81,800 KRW, unchanged from the previous trading day. Samsung SDI fell 3.13%, Hyundai Motor dropped 2.10%, and SK Hynix, LG Energy Solution, Kia, Celltrion, and NAVER all declined by more than 1%. On the other hand, KB Financial rose 6.03%, and Shinhan Financial Group was up 4.49%.

The KOSDAQ recorded 836.35, down 10.80 points (1.27%) from the previous trading day.

By investor type, individuals were net buyers of 192 billion KRW. Conversely, foreigners and institutions were net sellers of 102.1 billion KRW and 77.9 billion KRW respectively.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM traded at 186,600 KRW, down 1,900 KRW (1.01%) from the previous trading day. HLB, Classys, and Lino Industrial fell more than 3%. Rainbow Robotics, Hugel, and Rigachem Bio declined more than 2%. Meanwhile, Enchem rose 2.69%.
