Goo Inmo, Geochang County Governor, Begins Second Half of 8th Term as Early Morning Bus Guide Assistant

Main Achievements of the First Half and Key Projects for the Next Two Years
Presenting a Vision Through Continued Initiatives

In Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam, on the 1st, County Governor Koo Inmo marked the beginning of the second half of the 8th popularly elected term by inviting over 250 residents, including heads of local institutions and organizations, as well as elementary, middle, and university students, to hold a ceremony commemorating the second anniversary of the 8th term and a performance report meeting.


The event began with a performance by the Geochang Boys and Girls Choir, followed by representatives of public officials, village heads, and students presenting a bouquet of flowers to County Governor Koo Inmo in celebration of the successful conclusion of the first half of the 8th term.


In addition, awards and plaques of appreciation were presented to 34 residents and public officials in recognition of their active cooperation with county administration. The Planning and Budget Officer then reported on the main achievements of the first two years of the 8th term, covering population and education, medical care and welfare, agriculture and rural areas, economy and industry, daily life and safety, as well as culture, tourism, and sports.


Goo Inmo, Geochang County Governor, Begins Second Half of 8th Term as Early Morning Bus Guide Assistant Governor Gu Inmo started the first early morning of the second half of the 8th term as a "bus guide assistant," going out to bus stops early in the morning to help elderly passengers with their luggage, listen to their daily concerns and inconveniences, and engage in communication in a friendly atmosphere.

In particular, Geochang-gun demonstrated its status as the top city in the northwestern region of Gyeongnam with the best residential environment for people, by achieving the largest population among counties in Gyeongnam, reaching 1 million visitors in forest tourism, expanding sports infrastructure, and implementing daily life administration through the construction of roundabouts, thus establishing itself as a leading city in education, tourism, and sports infrastructure.


Introducing the eight major focus projects for county administration as the vision for the second half of the 8th term, the county expressed its vision to usher in a 'Greater Geochang Leap and Era of Resident Happiness' by enhancing the quality of life for all generations through the development of a theater arts complex, the establishment of a Geochang-style medical welfare town, and a strong emphasis on culture, arts, and welfare.


Residents who attended the performance report meeting said, "By attending this meeting, I realized once again how much Geochang-gun is doing for its residents," and added, "I look forward to further development of Geochang through the vision for the second half of the term."


During his remarks, County Governor Koo Inmo candidly shared anecdotes about the process of achieving many accomplishments over the past six years, especially regarding the Geochang Changpowon Development Project. Despite concerns about expansion, he stated that he confidently expanded the Changpowon facilities, believing in its potential, which led to the current Changpowon and is now preparing for its leap to a national garden.


Finally, Governor Koo said, "The achievements of the past six years, starting from the 7th term, were only possible with the support and participation of the residents. I ask for your continued active participation and encouragement in the second half of the 8th term. Together with over 800 public officials, I will devote myself solely to the residents and strive to make Geochang-gun the best local government in the country through forward-thinking administration."


Meanwhile, on this day, County Governor Koo Inmo began the first morning of the second half of the 8th term as a 'bus guide assistant.' Early in the morning, he visited bus stops, helped elderly residents with their luggage, and listened to their daily concerns and inconveniences, engaging in communication in a friendly atmosphere.


Later, he visited the Memorial Tower for the Patriotic Martyrs to pay tribute to their noble sacrifices. During lunchtime, he visited the traditional market, shared a meal with merchants, and had conversations about the local economy and livelihoods.
