On the 2nd, Seoul Dongjak-gu announced that Park Il-ha, the mayor of Dongjak-gu, continued his first official schedule of the third year of the 8th local government by encouraging employees and communicating with the public on the 1st.

Mayor Park encouraged the efforts of employees through a coffee truck event on his way to work and attended the opening ceremony of the expansion of a public parking lot with 80 spaces near Namseong Station in Sadang-dong, a long-standing wish of local residents.

He then held the ‘Dongjak Residents Roundtable Policy Discussion’ to share the achievements of the first half of the 8th local government and to seek development directions for the second half. About 200 discussants, including Mayor Park and participants recruited both online and offline as well as those recommended by various sectors, attended the discussion, covering a total of nine topics: balanced city, welfare (children, youth, elderly), education, economy, culture, daily life, and safety.

Mayor Park delivered a keynote presentation sharing key projects from the first half, such as Dongjak-gu-style urban development to change the map of Dongjak and Dongjak-style welfare encompassing all generations. Through the subsequent discussion, ten priority policies proposed by residents were selected, including securing public parking lots, creating a silver town, and establishing a youth education support center.

On the 2nd, Dongjak-gu announced that Mayor Park would visit elderly couples’ households in the district to support elder care through the Hyo-do Call Center by assisting with home repairs such as repairing and wallpapering stained walls and replacing fluorescent lights. Since its establishment in March as the first center in Seoul, the ‘Dongjak Hyo-do Call Center’ has played the role of an all-purpose problem solver for the elderly, achieving a user satisfaction rate of 96% and enhancing the status of ‘Hyo-do City Dongjak.’

He is also scheduled to attend a residents’ meeting held at ‘Yangnyeong Youth Housing,’ the first monthly rent 10,000 won housing in Seoul, to listen to the opinions of young people and help alleviate their housing cost burdens.

On the 3rd, he will visit the Sangdo 3-dong Community Service Center to check the progress of the long-term lease housing project in the southern station area of Seongdae Market.

Mayor Park Il-ha stated, “We will create visible results with the residents at a rapid pace in all areas including urban development, welfare, daily life, and economy, from appearance to substance,” and added, “Through this, we will surely complete the city of the highest value that residents can take pride in.”
