"A True Hero" Praised... "Wants to Build 1,000 Houses"
Among individual YouTubers, 'MrBeast,' who has the most subscribers worldwide, is drawing attention by building and donating 100 houses to a village suffering from poverty. As of the 2nd, the 'MrBeast' channel, which has about 300 million subscribers, uploaded a video titled "We Built and Gave Away 100 Houses" on the 30th of last month. The video shows the story of building new houses and gifting them to a village in Jamaica struggling with poverty.
Most residents of a neighborhood in Jamaica lived in shacks built on the mountaintop, and these shacks were in such a dangerous and unstable condition that they could collapse at any time. MrBeast sent the residents on a trip to buy time to build new houses. After returning from the trip, the residents shed tears of joy as they saw the new houses they received as a surprise gift. The houses were equipped with refrigerators and bunk beds for children. Essential equipment for daily life, such as water tanks and electricity, was also provided.
The next place visited was a village in El Salvador where hundreds of houses were destroyed every rainy season due to rising river waters. MrBeast built dozens of houses several kilometers away from the village and gifted them to the residents. Maria, who lost her house in the flood, was having difficult days without even a proper bed to sleep on. Upon seeing the new house gifted by MrBeast, Maria and her family hugged each other and shed tears of joy, saying, "Oh my God, thank you."
In addition, MrBeast built and donated a total of 100 houses in Argentina and Colombia. Besides houses, he also donated soccer fields, soccer equipment, and bicycles for children. When he gifted the 100th and final house to a family, he expressed gratitude, saying, "Thank you to the partners who helped build this house and thank you to all of you. If you hadn’t watched the videos, we would never have been able to build 100 houses." He added, "If the channel keeps growing, I want to build 1,000 houses in the future." Comments on the video include warm responses such as “A true hero,” “Those who treat the poor kindly will be rewarded,” and “This is truly amazing. I hope the good deeds continue.”
