Newly Appointed Public Officials This Year Participate in 'Jungnang Tour' Visiting Facilities with Families
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, embarked on a special communication to commemorate the start of the third year of the 8th local government administration.
On the morning of the 1st, the first day of the third year of the 8th local government, Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi and Jungnang-gu office staff visited Mangwoo History and Culture Park to pay respects at the graves of independence activist Yu Gwan-sun, Buddhist monk and poet Manhae Han Yong-un, and educator Sopa Bang Jeong-hwan.
Mangwoo History and Culture Park is a place the district visits whenever it renews its determination. On this day, marking the halfway point of the 8th local government term, they honored the noble spirits of these three figures who sacrificed for the nation and people, and reaffirmed their commitment to carrying on their legacy to build a better Jungnang-gu.
Following this, time was spent communicating with the staff who have worked together. This was to encourage the employees who have strived to elevate the pride of Jungnang-gu over the past six years and to gather strength to continue moving forward with one heart.
First, commendations were awarded to employees who have actively worked to resolve residents’ inconveniences and promote the development of Jungnang-gu. Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi said, “I sincerely thank all members of the Jungnang family who have worked tirelessly day and night for the happiness of Jungnang residents,” adding, “I hope you will continue to take pride in serving Jungnang-gu and its residents and work together to create meaningful achievements that embody the spirit of Jungnang.”

Next, residents joined in viewing the photo exhibition “Connecting Jungnang” set up in the district office lobby. The “Connecting Jungnang” photo exhibition highlights the changes and development of the district through past and present photos of Jungnang, sharing the meaning of sustainable development by showcasing images that reflect the future vision. The exhibition runs until July 31 and is free for all to visit.
In the afternoon, a special event was held. Newly appointed public officials of this year and their families were invited to participate in the “Jungnang Tour,” which explored various facilities established during the 7th and 8th local government terms. They visited the Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center, Jungnang Yangwon Media Center, Environmental Education Center, and the Jungnang Mangwoo Space at Mangwoo History and Culture Park, receiving introductions to the facilities and experiencing various activities firsthand.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi stated, “All the changes and developments in Jungnang-gu so far have been achieved because the 400,000 residents of Jungnang and all Jungnang-gu employees have worked together with one heart and one mind. I thank all the residents and Jungnang-gu office staff,” adding, “We will continue to do our utmost to create an even prouder and happier city so that Jungnang residents can live with pride and dignity in Jungnang-gu.”
