"I have lunch with salad at the cafeteria and take yoga classes at the district office in the evening. I feel my body and mind are getting healthier. Can I keep looking forward to this?"

At the regular staff assembly held on the 1st at the Songpa District Office auditorium, a young generation employee expressed great satisfaction with the ‘Songpa District-style welfare benefits’ and said this.

Songpa District (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) held a regular assembly on the first day of the third year of the 8th elected term, with about 500 employees attending. Moving away from a rigid and formal style, they created a music performance and dialogue session for young employees, receiving a good response.

On this day, employees attracted attention by asking honest questions and giving opinions during the conversation time with Mayor Seo Gang-seok.

In particular, there were many positive opinions about the district’s welfare projects for ‘MZ generation public officials.’ Employee welfare is a project personally overseen by Mayor Seo. It aims to prevent early retirement of low-ranking public officials and provide high-quality administrative services.

Accordingly, over the past two years, the district has promoted ▲the nation’s first housing loan interest support for public officials without homes ▲employee cooking classes ▲promotions for hotels, wedding halls, cafes, and gyms, and was selected as the ‘Best Institution for Public Official Welfare’ by the Ministry of Personnel Management.

By the end of July, a rest area for employees will also be established on the 10th floor of the district office. The district plans to remodel the space previously used as the public officials’ union office into a stylish space with an atmosphere comparable to a cafe and return it to all employees.

Additionally, at the regular assembly, young public officials proposed ‘MZ abbreviation tests’ and ‘balance games’ to Mayor Seo Gang-seok, creating time to get to know each other. Employees responded enthusiastically through the internal bulletin board, saying, “Thanks to the changed format of the regular assembly, I had a great time,” and “The 2nd anniversary assembly with the mayor was ‘Wannaes’ (completely my style).”

Mayor Seo Gang-seok said, “Among about 2,000 Songpa District public officials, more than half belong to the MZ generation,” and added positively, “MZ generation employees value their private lives but work more diligently than older generations, so I see a bright future for Songpa District.”
