Man in his 60s Drives Vehicle Onto Sidewalk
At around 9:27 PM on the 1st, a vehicle crashed onto the sidewalk at an intersection near Seoul City Hall Station.

As a result of this accident, a total of 6 people died, 4 were seriously injured, and 3 sustained minor injuries. Among the seriously injured, 3 were in cardiac arrest and were transported to nearby hospitals. The police and fire authorities plan to contact the families of the 6 deceased once their identities are confirmed.
The police apprehended a male driver in his 60s, Mr. A, who was driving a Genesis vehicle at the scene. It is reported that the man claims the vehicle experienced sudden unintended acceleration.
Mr. A was conscious at the time of the accident and has been confirmed to be transported to a hospital. According to the fire authorities, it has not been confirmed whether Mr. A was under the influence of alcohol.
The police and fire authorities plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the accident.
