In Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, the police launched an investigation after receiving a report that a specific gas station was targeted early in the morning with false orders of delivery food worth tens of thousands of won. According to Yonhap News Agency citing the Yangju Police Station on the 1st, "At around 6 a.m. that day, a delivery order worth 300,000 won was placed at restaurant A in Yangju-si through a delivery app." The delivery address for the order was a gas station in Hoecheon-dong, Yangju-si, and the payment method selected was a post-payment system called 'meet and pay by card.' The orderer also left the gas station owner's personal mobile phone number in the request section.

The owner of restaurant A, who received the order, reportedly did not suspect anything because the personal mobile phone number was provided, despite the large volume of orders from early morning. Accordingly, the order was accepted, the food was prepared, and delivery was made, but there was no one at the gas station who had placed the order. Moreover, there were delivery drivers from other restaurants at the gas station besides restaurant A.

The gas station owner expressed embarrassment, stating that no food had been ordered, and ultimately the food was collected without payment.

Upon police arrival and verification, it was confirmed that three restaurants, including restaurant A, suffered damages in a similar manner that morning. The total amount of unpaid food costs was approximately 450,000 won.

The owner of restaurant A said, "I delivered to the gas station at 7 a.m., but another owner I met at the police station said their order came in at 7:30 a.m. It seems that such incidents occurred at quite a few places from early dawn to morning."

A police official stated, "We conducted a witness investigation with the gas station owner and believe there may be additional damages. We plan to identify the orderer and ascertain the detailed circumstances of the case."
