On the 1st, Andeokgeun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, stated regarding the East Sea deep-sea gas field project that "Korea National Oil Corporation is holding an investment attraction briefing." Previously, Kim Dongseop, President of the Korea National Oil Corporation, mentioned that five overseas companies, including ExxonMobil, have contacted regarding investment in the gas field. The Oil Corporation generally goes through the process of selecting a preferred negotiator and contract negotiations after the briefing.

Minister An added, "Many companies are inquiring," and said that the Oil Corporation will concretize investment plans. He also emphasized the importance of security in oil and energy resources and stated that resource exploration will be actively promoted.
