On the 1st, the Uiwang Police Station in Gyeonggi announced that it had concluded 'no charges' in the case where the People Power Party filed a complaint against Democratic Party lawmaker Lee So-young for allegedly spreading false information under the Public Official Election Act. The police decided not to prosecute Lee earlier last month and closed the investigation.

The Clean Election Headquarters of the People Power Party's Central Election Countermeasures Committee claimed that Lee had disseminated false information regarding the commencement of construction on the Indong Line and Wolpan Line before the official election campaign period and submitted a complaint on April 4. They argued that Lee's posting of banners and sending text messages containing the word 'commencement' were illegal despite the construction not having started.

In response, Lee's side refuted the claims, stating that the Indong Line and others had indeed commenced construction, and during the election campaign period, she presented construction contract documents and commencement notices in TV debates.

After analyzing materials from both sides and conducting witness interviews, the police judged that Lee was not guilty. A police official stated, "After considering various evidence, we decided not to prosecute," but declined to disclose specific grounds for the decision or details of the investigation.
