Employees and Residents Hold Regular Meeting to Mark 2nd Anniversary of Inauguration
Announces Achievements Over Two Years and Vision for Key Future Projects
On July 1, Son Byeongbok, the governor of Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province, commemorated the 2nd anniversary of the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration by visiting the Memorial Tower with about 40 members of veterans’ organizations and holding a regular meeting to celebrate his 2nd inauguration anniversary together with county officials and residents.
In his commemorative address at the regular meeting marking the 2nd anniversary of the 8th administration, Governor Son Byeongbok took time to explain the achievements of the county government over the past two years and the key projects to be prioritized in the future.
The major achievements of Uljin County’s 8th administration over the past two years include: ▲Exemption from the preliminary feasibility study for the Uljin Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex ▲Revitalization of the local economy through the resumption of construction of Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4 ▲Selection as a leading region for the Special Education Development Zone ▲Promotion of agricultural transformation ▲Improvement of living conditions and quality of life in fishing villages ▲Improvement of the consignment system for efficient operation of county-owned facilities ▲Establishment of a safety and welfare system for residents ▲Expansion of communication opportunities with residents ▲Securing large-scale project funding through strategic responses to public contest projects.
He went on to state that the next two years will mark the true beginning of Uljin County’s leap forward, and explained the key projects aimed at transforming Uljin into a hydrogen energy hub city in Korea with a population of 100,000.
The county announced its focus on the following key projects: ▲Securing new growth engines for the future ▲Preparing for the era of 10 million annual tourists in Uljin ▲Providing people-oriented, inspiring customized welfare services ▲Building a competitive Uljin-style industrial base ▲Improving safe and pleasant living conditions ▲Pursuing a service-oriented administration that communicates and empathizes with residents.
Governor Son Byeongbok stated, “I would like to thank all residents and public officials who have joined together to build ‘Uljin, a new hope through harmony.’ We will not rest on our achievements but continue to take on new challenges to lead the era of local government and grow Uljin into Korea’s hydrogen energy hub city with a population of 100,000. I hope that all residents will unite as one and join us on the dynamic journey toward a bright and prosperous future for Uljin.”
