'Arkana' with Changed Name and Appearance Plays a Key Role
Preference for Hybrid Continues

Renault Korea Sales Reach 9,002 Units in June... Up 23.4% YoY

Renault Korea recorded sales of over 9,000 units last month. The Arkana, which changed its name and logo from the XM3, performed well in both domestic and export markets.


On the 1st, Renault Korea announced that it sold a total of 9,002 units last month, including 2,041 units domestically and 6,961 units for export. This represents a 23.4% increase compared to the same period last year.


In the domestic market, sales reached 2,041 units last month, marking an 18.6% growth compared to the same month last year. Arkana sales amounted to 1,150 units, accounting for more than half of the total sales last month. Sales of the mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) QM6 were 808 units, down 12.9% compared to the same month last year. Approximately 72% (581 units) of last month’s sales were the LPG model, QM6 LPe.


Exports were also driven by the Arkana. Renault Korea’s shipments in June totaled 6,961 units, up 24.8% year-on-year and 45.7% month-on-month. Arkana exports accounted for the majority of total exports, recording 6,082 units.


A preference for hybrid models was also evident in Arkana sales. Last month, 72.1% (829 units) of total Arkana sales were hybrid models. In the first half of this year, a total of 3,668 Arkana E-Tech hybrids were sold, an increase of 251.3% compared to the same period last year. The share of hybrid models in Renault Korea’s total sales in the first half of this year also reached 32.7%.
