Diabetes often shows no special symptoms in its early stages, making it difficult for patients to detect abnormalities on their own. On the other hand, once subjective symptoms appear, diabetes is likely to have progressed significantly and becomes difficult to treat, so regular health check-ups and consistent management are necessary beforehand.

Accordingly, the three companies plan to cooperate in managing diabetes for examinees at the KMI Health Screening Center who are identified as having diabetes or prediabetes. They will link Saluscare’s health screening prognosis management service, VitaPort, with Kakao Healthcare’s AI-based mobile blood glucose management service, Pasta, to provide personalized health management services and content. In this process, Kakao Healthcare’s AI and mobile technology capabilities, KMI’s screening expertise, and Saluscare’s prognosis management service know-how will be combined to detect high-risk diabetes groups early and work to reduce prevalence.

Hwang Hee, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, said, “There are about 5.7 million diabetes patients in Korea, and 15 million people are in the prediabetes stage. Through collaboration with KMI and Saluscare, we aim to contribute to health promotion related to chronic diseases including diabetes and actively expand the market for the Pasta service.”
