Solus Advanced Materials' stock price surged significantly following news that it will supply copper foil exclusively for artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators to Nvidia.
On the 1st, in the stock market, Solus Advanced Materials was trading at 22,900 KRW as of 1:18 PM, up 25.55% from last week's closing price. The stock price, which was around 18,000 KRW last week, jumped to 21,000 KRW in the morning session and continued to rise in the afternoon.
Preferred shares issued by Solus Advanced Materials, Solus Advanced Materials1 Preferred (+21.43%) and Solus Advanced Materials2 Preferred (+17.84%), also showed steep gains.
According to related industries, Solus Advanced Materials will supply ultra-low roughness (HVLP) copper foil to Doosan Electronics BG (Business Group), which received final mass production approval for copper foil clad laminate (CCL) from Nvidia.
HVLP copper foil is a high-end copper foil product with surface roughness reduced to 0.6 micrometers (μm, one-millionth of a meter) or less to minimize signal loss in electronic products, and it will be installed in Nvidia's next-generation AI accelerators scheduled for release this year.
Previously, no domestic company was known to have supplied copper foil for AI accelerators to Nvidia.
