Daesang Group's Nationwide Blood Donation Campaign for All Citizens Throughout July

19th Annual 'Red Challenge' This Year
All Affiliates Participate
Matching Grant of 100,000 KRW per Blood Donation Certificate Also Underway

Daesang Group announced on the 1st that it will carry out the nationwide blood donation campaign "Red Challenge" throughout July.


The campaign involves all affiliates of Daesang Group, including Daesang Holdings, Daesang Corporation, and Daesang Wellife, to support blood supply. The Red Challenge, which Daesang Group has been conducting with the Korean Red Cross since 2006, marks its 19th year this year. Until 2019, the "Donate Blood Before Vacation" campaign was conducted targeting Daesang Group employees, but from 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic began in earnest, the campaign expanded to encourage blood donation from the entire nation.

This year, to encourage more employee participation, a new "Matching Grant" system has been established. When Daesang Group employees donate blood and then donate their blood donation certificates, the company will add KRW 100,000 per certificate and donate the amount to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation. Donating 500 blood donation certificates will result in a donation of KRW 50 million.


The Daesang Group Red Challenge is open to everyone nationwide. Participants can post photos or videos of their blood donation on their personal social networking service (SNS) channels with public visibility, then copy the post link and submit it on the event board of the Korean Red Cross Blood Management Headquarters website. At this time, participants must follow Daesang Group’s social contribution Instagram account and include the five mandatory hashtags (#헌혈 #대상그룹 #전국민동참 #헌혈캠페인 #레드챌린지) in their posts.


Among the participants in the blood donation campaign, 200 people will be selected by lottery to receive a food box prize consisting of popular products from Daesang Corporation’s Cheongjeongwon and Jongga brands, as well as Daesang Wellife’s New Care and Daesang Dives Bokumjari products. Winners can be confirmed in August on Daesang Corporation’s social contribution Instagram account and the Korean Red Cross Blood Management Headquarters website.


Kim Kyung-sook, Head of Daesang ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) Management Office, said, "We hope that many citizens will take an interest in blood donation and participate, bringing great hope to those facing difficulties in blood supply."
