Kyobo Securities Publishes '2023 Integrated Report' Highlighting ESG Management Achievements

Kyobo Securities’ ESG management is being promoted with the goal of ‘responsible actions that create positive changes for society, the environment, and the world,’ centered on the ESG Committee directly under the Board of Directors.

Starting with the first report published in 2022, the company publishes an integrated report annually to review sustainability management performance and share it with stakeholders. As a result, it was selected as one of the top 100 excellent companies in ESG management by the ESG evaluation agency Sustainvest.

The report was prepared in compliance with the international standard GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) to enhance credibility. Additionally, to ensure the reliability and completeness of the preparation process and data, third-party verification was conducted by Lloyd’s Register.

The main topics covered in detail were the priority issues derived from the double materiality assessment: ▲climate change response ▲consumer rights protection ▲customer information and data security.

In particular, Kyobo Securities strengthened information disclosure by including the ‘TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures)’ report to proactively manage climate change-related risks and opportunities and respond to the mandatory sustainability disclosure.

The TCFD report contains ▲calculation of Scope 3 including financial emissions ▲establishment of greenhouse gas reduction targets and implementation strategies based on the ‘Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)’ ▲climate change risks and potential financial impacts.

ESG management performance was detailed and categorized into ▲governance ▲risk management ▲ethical and compliance management ▲customer satisfaction ▲digital and innovative finance ▲respectful culture for employees ▲community engagement ▲ESG finance ▲and eco-friendly management, with implementation status included.

Furthermore, to emphasize the responsibility of its members, a page titled ‘Our Promises’ was created to highlight the current status of ESG management implementation and the commitment to future goals.

Jung Won-il, Head of the Change and Innovation Support Department at Kyobo Securities, said, “We emphasized differentiation with a special design that adds interest and fun to make it easy and approachable for all stakeholders,” and added, “We will continue to share and communicate ESG performance with stakeholders and strive to become a leading ESG securities company.”

Meanwhile, Kyobo Securities was selected for two consecutive years as an excellent report at the Korea Sustainability Awards hosted by the Korea Standards Association last year. This year, in the first half evaluation by Sustainvest, its overall rating rose one step from A to AA, and its scale rating improved from BB to A.
