Asiana Airlines Offers Aviation Career Special Lecture for Youth

Asiana Airlines announced that on the 30th of last month, it held a career special lecture program called ‘Saekdong Narae Classroom’ for about 150 nearby elementary, middle, and high school students at the Seoul Hwagok Youth Center.


The event was held in collaboration with Gangseo English Library, with the airline’s education donation volunteer group participating as instructors. They provided an introduction to the preparation process for becoming pilots, flight attendants, and maintenance technicians, as well as an overview of job duties by occupation and the advantages of working for an airline. Customized counseling was also offered through a one-on-one mentoring program.

This was the second time the program was conducted following last year, and the number of participants was increased by 50 due to high demand. First Officer Yoo Hyung-taek, who gave the lecture, said, "Education donation activities are a special experience that allows me to feel rewarded together with students and take pride in my profession."


Asiana Airlines’ education donation volunteer group consists of 180 members with specialized aviation knowledge, including flight crew, cabin crew, aircraft maintenance technicians, flight operations managers, and airport service staff. Since 2013, they have formed a dedicated education donation volunteer team and have given more than 4,300 lectures to youth over the past 11 years.
