Changwon Special City to Host World Korean Women's Network Conference

About 500 Domestic and International Women Leaders to Visit Changwon Next August

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 1st that it has been selected to host the 24th World Korean Women's Network (KOWIN) Conference, an event that brings together domestic and international female leaders.

This successful bid for the conference is the result of joint efforts by Gyeongsangnam-do and Changwon City, and is expected to be an important event for strengthening the global network, enhancing women's leadership, and creating a women-friendly city.

The World Korean Women's Network (KOWIN) Conference is an annual international event where Korean women from around the world gather to share experiences, knowledge, goals, and visions across various fields, and to strengthen their roles as global women leaders. The 24th conference is scheduled to be held in Changwon at the end of August 2025, co-hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Changwon City.

Changwon City succeeded in attracting the event thanks to its rich history, culture, and excellent hosting conditions. The conference is expected to raise Changwon's international profile and have a positive impact on the city's efforts to be redesignated as a women-friendly city in 2025.

Hong Nam-pyo, mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "It is very encouraging for the empowerment of local women that we are hosting this conference for the first time in Changwon's history," and added, "This will be an opportunity for Korean women from around the world to experience the beauty and potential of Changwon firsthand."

The World Korean Women's Network Conference will feature a variety of seminars, workshops, and cultural events, providing an in-depth platform for exchange and cooperation among Korean women worldwide. Gyeongsangnam-do and Changwon City are actively preparing to ensure the successful hosting of the event.
