Woori Bank announced on the 1st that its local subsidiary in Vietnam, Vietnam Woori Bank, established its 26th local branch, the Lotte Mall Branch, in Hanoi on the 25th of last month.
The Lotte Mall, where the Lotte Mall Branch is located, is Asia's largest complex shopping mall situated in Ho Tay (West Lake), the center of Hanoi's new city area. Since its opening in September last year, the mall has emerged as a hot spot in Hanoi, with the cumulative number of visitors recently surpassing 7 million.
At the opening ceremony of the Lotte Mall Branch, key figures including the Director of International Cooperation at the State Bank of Vietnam and other local financial authorities, Jang Eun-sook, President of the Hanoi Korean Association, Hong Seon, President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, and heads of local subsidiaries of domestic companies attended. Notably, an advertisement video featuring Woori Financial Group model IU was displayed on a large LED screen installed inside Lotte Mall.
Going forward, the Lotte Mall Branch plans to intensively pursue localization strategies, such as operating the Two Chairs service for local affluent customers, following the opening of the Starlake Branch in November last year.
A representative of Vietnam Woori Bank stated, “Following the Korean residential areas of My Dinh and the business town of Lotte Center, we have now opened a branch in Lotte Mall, which is frequented by Vietnam's MZ generation. We will use the opening of the Lotte Mall Branch as an opportunity to further upgrade the brand competitiveness and business capabilities of Vietnam Woori Bank.”
