Kakao's content CIC-operated content publishing platform Brunch Story announced on the 1st that it has published 10 grand prize-winning works from the '11th Brunch Book Publishing Project' as books.
The Brunch Book Publishing Project is a book publishing contest that Kakao has been conducting annually since 2015. It selects outstanding works among numerous original Brunch Books posted on Brunch Story and provides opportunities for publication. To date, the total number of submissions has reached over 53,000. A total of 327 winners and 349 winning works have been produced.
The 11th Brunch Book Publishing Project, held over two months from August last year, received about 8,800 submissions, an 8% increase compared to previous rounds. Ten partner publishers, including Gimmyoungsa and Sigongsa, each selected one grand prize-winning work from these.
There are a total of 10 grand prize-winning works: ▲ 1 Million Won Marketing (Kim Geon-woo, Hanbit Media) ▲ This Is Branding (Kim Do-hwan, RH Korea) ▲ Do You Have Any Last Words? (Sidney, Sigongsa) ▲ Countryside, Woman, Soccer (No Hae-won, Heuleum Publishing) ▲ Jokes Without Mom (Kim Hyun-min, Anon Books) ▲ Alone at the Club Again Today (So-ram, Suo Library) ▲ This Station Is a Hilarious Underworld (Lee Do-hoon, Iyagi Jangsu) ▲ Life Is an Escape Room (Oh Ji-eun, Gimmyoungsa) ▲ Small Town Salaryman (Jo Yeoreum, Media Changbi) ▲ Words Being Born (Jo So-yeon, Book House).
Commemorative exhibitions and book talks will also be held. From today, a special exhibition will be held on KakaoTalk Gift and the online bookstore Yes24. At Yes24, customers who purchase past Brunch Book award-winning works until September will also receive a Brunch Story Black Monami Pen as a gift. Additionally, from the 24th of this month to the 23rd of next month, relay book talks with authors will be held at Hyundai Department Store Pangyo Branch in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do (every Monday and Wednesday) and Book Day 423 Kakao Pangyo Ajit Branch (every Wednesday and Friday). Afterwards, opportunities for communication between authors and readers, such as exhibitions, will continue to be provided.
