Busan Transportation Corporation Simultaneously Acquires ISO Certifications for Information Security and Personal Data Protection

Meeting ISO27001 and ISO27701 International Standards

Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) has simultaneously obtained global-level certifications for information security and personal information protection management systems (ISO27001 and ISO27701) to ensure that citizens' personal information and key business data, as digital assets, are managed reliably and securely.

ISO27001 and ISO27701 are the most authoritative international standard certifications in the field of information protection, established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

The certifications are granted to companies that meet the requirements after a review of 35 requirements and 114 control items for information security (ISO27001), and 8 requirements and 49 control items for personal information protection (ISO27701).

The corporation became the first public institution under Busan City to receive both ISO27001 and ISO27701 certifications simultaneously, thereby demonstrating its international-level capabilities in information security and personal information protection.

Furthermore, as Busan is a world-renowned tourist city, the corporation is carrying out projects such as responding to personal information protection level assessments, upgrading personal information access log solutions, conducting personal information impact assessments, and enhancing system infrastructure to establish a personal information protection system and strengthen security so that customers can use the urban railway services safely and happily.

Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "Recently, obligations for personal information protection in public institutions have been strengthened," and added, "We will strive to create a safe digital metro environment in the era of digital transformation and focus on personal information protection and information security."
