Sold 20,000 Units Globally Within One Month of Release
Samsung Electronics' new gaming monitor series, 'Odyssey OLED,' is gaining popularity in major countries.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 1st that two new Odyssey OLED models (G80SD and G60SD) began sales simultaneously last month on the 4th in key markets including Korea, North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, and have sold over 20,000 units in just over a month since their launch. This means one unit was sold every two minutes since the release.
The two new OLED models feature Samsung Electronics' proprietary burn-in prevention technology, 'Samsung OLED Safeguard+,' applied for the first time, and are equipped with 'OLED Glare Free,' which minimizes light reflection.

The Odyssey OLED G8 (32-inch, 240Hz refresh rate) with 4K UHD resolution and the Odyssey OLED G6 (27-inch, 360Hz refresh rate) with QHD resolution both offer ▲16:9 aspect ratio ▲0.03ms (GtG) response time ▲standard brightness of 250 nits, and various features for clear image quality and smooth gameplay.
Additionally, the Odyssey OLED G8 is equipped with the most powerful AI processor to date, the 'NQ8 AI 3rd generation processor.' When watching content through smart TV apps, the image quality is upscaled close to 4K, allowing for a more vivid viewing experience.
Jung Hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division, said, "Our pursuit of technology and innovation to provide gamers with the best gaming environment has led to the popularity of the Odyssey OLED series," and added, "As the global number one in the OLED monitor market, we will continue to lead the market through relentless technological innovation."
Meanwhile, according to market research firm IDC, Samsung Electronics ranked first globally in the OLED monitor market in both revenue and volume for the first quarter of this year, following last year.
