'30th Anniversary Seocho Friday Concert' Held... Equipped with State-of-the-Art Sound System

Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold the "30th Anniversary Seocho Friday Concert" on the 12th of this month to celebrate the reopening of the Seocho Culture and Arts Center, which has been newly renovated with a state-of-the-art sound system and has a seating capacity of 600.

The performance will feature singer Roy Kim, musical actress Song Eun-hye, media performance group Expression Crew, and the Seocho Symphony Orchestra (conductor Bae Jong-hoon), offering the audience a variety of musical experiences.

Performances will also take place outdoors at the Culture and Arts Center. The pre-concert "Wheel-Running Seocho Concert" will heat up the summer night with jazz performances by young artists, and after the concert, the Friday Concert will be broadcast live on the large outdoor LED screen at the Culture and Arts Center.

This event plans to invite culturally marginalized groups, outstanding Seocho Coin members, resident participation supervisors, and local residents selected through pre-events to enjoy and celebrate together. Reservations for viewing will be on a first-come, first-served basis and can be made from 10 a.m. on the 1st via the Seocho-gu Office website.

The recently remodeled performance hall has introduced an immersive sound system that provides surround effects and three-dimensional sound, as well as a "variable reverberation system" that adjusts the reverberation time of the venue from 1 to 3 seconds, creating an optimized acoustic environment for various genres of performances. Seocho Culture and Arts Center is the only venue in Korea to have both systems installed simultaneously.

Along with the reopening, the admission fees and reservation methods have been completely revamped. From the 19th of this month, all performances here will be fully ticketed with no free shows; the admission fee is set at 5,000 KRW for the general public and 2,500 KRW for Seocho residents and other discounts. This pricing aims to reduce no-shows while not burdening the audience. Additionally, the previous system, which did not allow seat selection, has been improved through a partnership with Yes24, enabling advance seat selection, booking, and cancellation.

Quarterly Saturday planned performances will be held. This will provide opportunities for families who find it difficult to attend the current Friday 7 p.m. performances to enjoy the shows.

Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, "Thanks to the interest and love of the residents, the Seocho Friday Concert has reached its 30th anniversary," and added, "We will continue to approach audiences with high-quality performances befitting Seocho as a city of culture and arts."
